I do NOT enjoy being talked down to as if I were a child. I do my work and I do it in the best way I can. I AM part of this group and I AM doing my share of the work. I do NOT appreciate being talked to as if I have to constantly be reminded to do my job. Yes, I know that we have homework. I KNOW what I have to do and I ALWAYS pass my work on time. In fact! I am the only one in the group who ALWAYS shows up to class on time. Remember last week when I was all alone for half the class waiting for you two to show up?

I do not understand why you two discuss and make decisions on this without asking me. I also do not appreciate the fact that I am constantly being treated like the outsider. Or like the third arm that just gets in everyone's way. My opinions matter too, and the things I say have relevance. It's not like I spout off whatever gobbledygook that comes out the top of my head. And on the few occasions when I actually DON'T understand, please explain it to me in a logical, rational manner. Do NOT treat me like a simpleton. I am NOT an idiot.

Neil Gaiman directing an adaptation of Death: The High Cost of Living? OMG yes yes YES! I'm hoping that it finally pushes through, but I'm also hoping that it's a good adaptation. X_X
(I'm sorry, but the whole "star shine kills witches" thing really brought Stardust the movie down for me. D:

Anyway, check the link below:
http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2007/06/19/neil-gaiman-looks-beyond-stardust-and-into-death/

On a more personal note:

This week has been very... Interesting.

Grade-wise, in the extremes. Got higher than I expected in all my subjects except one: Chem 2. The one fricking class I had to pass to stay on track. Now because I failed that one class, I'll be delayed a whole term. God. Only in BS-Psych that you pass the majors with flying colors and fail the floatings.

Life-wise, more ambivalent. Is what I did wrong? I'm sure it was right to be honest but what happened after was a direct contradiction to the honesty.
Will it give false hope? I'm hoping not because I was very clear with my words, although not so with my actions. >_<

Ughhhhhhhh. Gimme a break, I'm only human!

    <lj:music>The Matches - Little Maggots</lj:music>

500 Days of Summer with Maw, Carla, Ina, and Ramon. What else can I say but "wow"? Pure bliss. Seriously. Joseph Gordon-Levitt AND Zooey Deschanel on the big screen? *squees!* 8D
Despite me already watching it on DVD, (the "unfinished" rough version) I still thought that it was totally worth it to watch it in the theatre.

JGL and Zooey's clothes were just fabulous! Very retro, yet not the grungy, frumpy, musty-looking type of retro. The whole sweater vest over the buttoned down shirt thing's pretty hot. Especially when it's worn with such rumpled nonchalance. Very put-together, but not TOO put-together. :P
And Zooey. Wow. All those gorgeous outfits. I noticed that she was always wearing blue, though. Perhaps to match her eyes?

Gah. They would be such a good-looking couple. *sighs*

The plot was... Well I guess the word is REALISTIC. It was funny, it was romantic, it was awesome. And I think what made this movie so good was because, yeah, it's actually plausible. There are people like Tom and Summer. There are people like Paul. How many of us have found ourselves in the position of one of these characters? I know I have. I guess that's what made this movie click so much with me. Not just because of JGL or Zooey or the awesome clothes, but because I see myself in the characters.

I wish there were more movies like this. Movies not about robots or magic or special effects, (although all these are awesome) but about... Life.

Moving on... We made over Ramon!!!! Maw, Carla, Ina, and I headed over to Topman, Ramon in tow, and made him try on all these clothes that we picked out for him. It was wayyyyyyy more fun than I expected. :D
Can I just say, though, that Ramon looked GOOD. Seriously, those glasses really suit him.
Black jacket and grey collared shirt FTW!! :D

In unrelated news, but not really:
I'm looking for an animated avatar of JGL doing his "twist and shout" move from 500 Days. Mission impossible. D:

    <lj:music>Forgive Durden - Doctor, Doctor</lj:music>

Spring Awakening! It was awesome. :D
I liked the second part a whole lot more than the first, but mostly because of Ilse and Moritz. I didn't really like Wendla, although the actress who played her was really good. (And looked remotely like Reese Witherspoon.)

Melchior was amazing! Not as hot as his character was supposed to be, but whatever. He was wonderful! A great actor, singer, whatever. Very, very cool.
Actually, all the actors were incredible, but the ones who really stood out for me were Melchior and Ilse.

Other plays that are going to be shown soon:
Rent, Avenue Q, Legally Blonde. Not sure what else. :P
I want to watch them all!!! I will not miss Rent for anything in the world.

In other news:
I want to stage a play, seriously. I've been listening to Raiza's Shadow, by Forgive Durden, and I really, really want to stage it. Raiza's Shadow is a concept album or a sort of "rock opera" so it can really be adapted as a play. The story's pretty awesome, too.

Seriously. I'm conceptualizing it in my mind. Anyone else interested? :

I just finished watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off (again) and I just want to ask... Does anyone else support Cameron/Sloane? I couldn't help noticing how they seem so... Right for each other. Yeah, yeah, so she's Ferris' girlfriend. It's just that, well, I just think Cameron and Sloane would be a better pairing that Ferris and Sloane. Is it just me?

Besides that, I love that movie. It's still super funny, even until now. I made Pio watch it and he couldn't stop laughing. XD

My favorite 80's teen movie is still The Sure Thing, though. John Cusack FTW! :D

I watched The Proposal with Kris, Kali, Robee, and Ramon yesterday. It satisfied my rom-com craving. :D Sandra Bullock is the Queen of Rom-Coms!!! (While You Were Sleeping = BEST EVER) Ryan Reynolds is just... Hot. Mmmmm. I'd check him out naked anytime. It was funny, yeah, and nakakakilig. But my only complaint is that the character development of Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) wasn't very good. I mean, he went from hating her guts to loving her in, like, 5 minutes. His proposal was cute, though.
"So Margaret, marry me because I'd like to date you." Teehee. Awesome way to propose.
Watched The Hangover today with Kris. Funny coincidence, we ran into Ina and Carla in the theater!! Like, we were about to sit down when I noticed that they were in the seat right beside us. Super awesome coincidence! What made it even stranger was that in the middle of the movie, I realized that Reg, Carla's sister, was seated on our other side. Carla didn't even notice until I pointed them out to her! Hahaha. :P

Anyway, the movie was awesome. I was kinda expecting it to be overrated, but it was sooooooo funny. Kris and I couldn't stop laughing! Not to mention that I think Justin Bartha's cute. Kris claims Bradley Cooper. XD

I couldn't find much info on him/ many pictures of him. :(

Yeah sorry, I'm really weird. How long ago was HP6 released, anyway? Hahaha! I was just surfing the net and I stumbled upon an HP6-centric article. Which led me to search for the actor who played young Tom Riddle. Which then caused me to become obsessed and stalker-like.

Ahhh, the wonders of the internet. :D

On a different note!!

G.I. Joe was disappointing. :| Joseph Gordon-Levitt (My love.) only appeared for, like, 10 minutes in all his adorable glory. *sighs* Kristel kept laughing at me throughout the whole movie because her crush, Channing Tatum, hogged the whole film while my dear Joseph was cruelly shunted aside. *shakes fist*
But besides that, overall, the film was pretty meh. I HATE that Wayans brother. I forget his name. I dislike the Wayans brothers in general. And dude, no WAY he'll get together with Scarlett (Covergirl) in real life. ANTI-SHIP. -_-

And while I applaud the use of the line "And knowing is half the battle" and the appearance of Imohtep and Brendan Frasier, weak plot, fail ninjas, and NO LASERS are just too much to ignore. :|

G.I. Joe. Yet another beloved childhood memory destroyed.

And on another completely unrelated note:

Comicon! I took lotsa pictures~
Again, though, I was disappointed. It was less a Comicon than it was an Anime convention. TOO. MANY. GOTH-LOLIS. *dies* O_O
Lotsa comics, though. <lj:music>The Decemberists - The Rake's Song</lj:music>

Would you believe me if I said that there is a real-life parasite that gets into the brain and is able to control the actions of the host?

Well even if you don't, that doesn't stop it from being true.

The lancet fluke, for example, infects ants but can only breed in the gut of a sheep, cow, or similar grazing animal. So what it does is it "controls" its ant host and makes it clamp down on blades of grass, where it is most likely to be eaten.
There is a similar parasite that affects fish, making them jump out of the water so it could be caught and eaten by birds.

That's not all - There is a parasite that does this to mammals. It's called Toxoplasma gondii.

It breeds in a cat's intestines, but its hosts are rats. What it does to the rat is it forms brain cysts in its brain - But the scary thing is that the rat seems like a perfectly normal rat. In a study, scientists found that infected rats were most likely to be killed and eaten by cats (thus completing the life cycle of the parasite.) Why? Well, the infected rats, instead of shunning areas where cats have marked their territory (like a normal rat would) it instead defied self-preservation and kept returning to that place.

The rat was being programmed to get eaten.

But that's not the worst part.
Toxoplasma gondii can be found in 50% of the human population.

Can this parasite somehow alter our personality? And if so, would it then be able to control us, even on a minor level?
Remember, mouse brains and human brains are highly similar (anatomy wise and neurotransmitter-wise.)

Food for thought.

Sheldon's strange habits are kinda endearing. :P

Nyway. If you had to choose between the two, who would you pick?
Personally, I'd go for Sheldon. (No pointy ears! Hehehe.) XD

Terminator!! I watched it twice over the weekend. Heehee. The one thing Kris and I wonder is this:
Why is every single guy in that movie hot?? There's Christian Bale (John Connor). There's Sam Worthington (Marcus Wright). And last - but DEFINITELY not the least - there's Anton Yelchin (Kyle Reese). I wanted all three while Kristel only wanted Marcus and Kyle. Decisions, decisions. Sigh. XD

It's strange. Anton Yelchin reminded me of Christian Slater during the first few scenes. Namely the scenes where he first talks to Marcus. After that, he started looking like Kevin Bacon in some angles. Weird.

On a random note:
I need help fixing my layout. My page looks horrible and I don't know how to do anything. *computer literacy fail* o_o

*Edit! It still amazes me how so many people haven't watched Terminator 1 and 2 yet watched Terminator: Salvation.

I wonder why I find it so hard to talk to him? I never really had that trouble before. I mean. Not to that extent. It's pretty strange, I think. I mean, I hardly know the guy. Of course, that's probably the reason why.

Anyway, it got so bad that I asked Marz for flirting advice. Seriously. And man, that girl is GOOD. o_O Seriously, she was telling me how to approach him and how to "ease" the conversation into certain desirable topics. Stuff like that. All quite casually, of course. *winkwink*

I'm making it official. Marz is now my new Press Secretary of Love. :P

Other than that incident, though, (and Wina will always have my deepest gratitude for it) the first week back at school was pretty vanilla. The classes - My majors anyway - Seem pretty fun, but I foresee a very stressful term. I'm crossing my fingers, though. :)

    <lj:music>Bob Dylan - Blowin' in the Wind</lj:music>

I'm slowly being eaten alive. Literally and figuratively.

1. I'm itching all over due to my blood being feasted on by mosquitoes.

2. I hate my prof. He teaches in such a way that you spend the whole 2 hours quivering in terror, but then after class, you realize that you haven't really learned anything. I'm not motivated at all, espcially considering this is a summer class. And that's dangerous, since this class is one of my majors.

3. I don't know who I am anymore or what I want.

It's strange. I suppose I'm just at a point where I'm trying to find my role in life. Is it still too early for that? Or am I woefully late? Haha.

I've actually been in this position for a while now. And I suppose that the reason why I haven't gotten myself out of this yet is because I've been waiting for some person to just magically appear and make this all go away. Someone who can complete me? No, that's not it. I guess it's more like... Someone who can help me find myself. But is it healthy to depend on someone else for me to find self-worth?

'Of course not,' the rational mind insists.

Of course, it's easier to say it than to do it.

Or even believe it.

    <lj:music>The Weepies - World Spins Madly On</lj:music>

I was thinking about it for a while now and I realized that there really isn't anything that makes me special. Not being emo here, just frank. I mean... I'm not an athlete, or a scholar, or a student leader. I don't cook, write, draw, paint, play an instrument, or anything. Nothing really to set me apart.

I suppose that was part of the reason why I decided to make a new LJ. not only did I want to start writing again (something I haven't done since HS,) but I also wanted to sort of symbolically start anew.

Also, I wanted an LJ that would be read only by my close friends, without me having to place my posts on private-mode. Speaking of, could anyone suggest more people I could add up? Friends, I mean, not aquaintances. Thanks. :D

On a lighter note: this Holy Week I've been on a How I Met Your Mother binge. Barney is just AWESOME SAUCE. Neil Patrick Harris is just hot. XD While watching, I came to the realization that I HATE TED. Oh God, he's so touchy-feely. And he's always searching for The One (Not bad per se, but when he equates every girl he dates to The One, well... It gets real old, real quick.)And he always goes for the big, grand gestures! Good God. Way to give girls unrealistic expectations, Ted.
